The Vancouver BIA Week runs now, from April 6th to the 11th. We are celebrating 32 years of BIAs this year! If you’re new here, we’ll start with the basics: What are BIAs? They are specially funded business districts managed by non-profit groups of property owners and business tenants whose goal is to promote and improve their business district.
-
- The Mount Pleasant Business Improvement Area was founded in 1989, making us the first BIA and also one of the oldest in the City!
- There are 22 BIAs in Vancouver, and over 60 across the Province. Downtown Vancouver, Commercial Dr., Cambie Village etc…
- BIAs are managed by a volunteer Board of Directors consisting of business members and property owners, alike!
- Street cleanliness, banners, community events…are just a few examples of work that the BIA does for the neighbourhood.
For BIA Week 2021, in the spirit of shopping local, support and strength, we’ve put together a fun contest for a good cause!

There are 22 BIAs in Vancouver filled with fantastic restaurants, pubs and cafes. The owners and staff are at the heart of the businesses that feed our soul. Please help us reach our goal of $2,200!
