Summer is right around the corner, and that means warmer weather, cold drinks, and great food enjoyed outdoors. If you’re dreaming of the sunshine returning and customers soaking it up right outside your door, now’s the time to plan ahead.
Storefront Seating Patios
The small sidewalk patio program has been updated to remove fees and simplify the application process. Most importantly: Non-food businesses can also now apply. Retail shops, service-based businesses, and other non-food establishments are eligible to set up a small patio directly in front of their business.
A small sidewalk patio can attract more foot traffic, create a welcoming storefront, and give customers a place to linger, perfect for all types of businesses looking to boost visibility and engagement this summer.
Curbside Patios
If you are a ground-floor food and beverage business with curbside space available directly in front of your business, you’re eligible to apply for a curbside patio. Please note that there are new guidelines for 2026, so be sure to review the updated requirements by following the link below before submitting your application
Submit your patio application by the end of JANUARY 2026 to obtain a patio permit for the start of the summer term (April 1).
