Summer on Main Historical Walking Tours

Explore the rich and interesting history of Main Street and Mount Pleasant this summer with the Mount Pleasant BIA and local historian Christine Hagemoen.

Over a series of three separate history walks, covering Main Street from Broadway to 28th Avenue, you’ll learn about the evolution of the area, hear some intriguing stories of past residents, and discover the variety of businesses and eateries that once called Mount Pleasant’s and Riley Park’s Main Street home.

 

Walk 1: Mid-Main Madness on July 4 – We’ll explore the weird and the wonderful of Main Street from 20th to 24th Avenue.

Walk 2:  Strolling historic Sunnyside on July 18 – This tour explores Main Street between King Edward Avenue and 28th Avenue, historically known as Sunnyside.

Walk 3: Winding down Watson Street on July 25 – On this tour, we’ll explore Mount Pleasant winding our way down Watson and Main Streets from 14th Avenue to Broadway.

 

Tour Dates: Saturday mornings 10-11am on July 4, 18, and 25.

Tours are approximately 1 hour in length and will take place rain or shine.  If rain is forecasted, please bring rain gear.

Note: Some mature content, suitable for ages 14 and up.

Tour size: max. 15 people
