Wine Tasting Wednesdays at the 14th & Main Plaza!

Join the Mount Pleasant BIA for Wine Tasting Wednesdays! We’ve teamed up with the Brewery Creek Liquor Store and Kurtis Kolt to host a FREE event every Wednesday from  from 6 to 7 PM at the 14th and Main Plaza until September 23rd.

Local wine expert Kurtis Kolt will guide guests through a tasting of three wines based on the weekly theme, with every attendee receiving a pour of each.

This event has limited space for 30 people, on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED basis. So be sure to grab your friends and snag a seat early, as this event tends to fill up quickly!

August 26th Theme: “Red Wine & Chill”

Kurtis Kolt is a Vancouver-based wine consultant who writes about wine, presents seminars, hosts events, judges wine competitions, and works with restaurants on their wine programs, among other things. His appearances include running wine service at the James Beard House in New York, where he occasionally participates in tasting panels for Wine & Spirits magazine, as well as a profile in Wine Enthusiast magazine. His certifications include London’s Wine & Spirit Education Trust, the Court of Master Sommeliers, and the Winemaking Program at UC Davis. In recent years, Kolt also co-founded and runs Top Drop in both Vancouver and Calgary — a terroir-focused trade and consumer wine festival that Western Living magazine has dubbed “the one wine tasting of the year you shouldn’t miss.”

The Brewery Creek Liquor Store is located in the heart of Mount Pleasant. Brewery Creek stands as Vancouver’s premier destination for craft beverages. Established in 2005, it holds the distinction of being the city’s first retail store to stock craft beer, setting the standard for quality and innovation in the industry. Brewery Creek’s awards include: The Growler’s Best Craft Beer Selection, Northwest Brewing News’ Best Beer Store in BC, The Westender’s Best Beer Store, The Georgia Straight’s Best of Vancouver / Best Beer Store and Golden Plates / Best Beer Store, and CAMRA’s Best Local Private Liquor Store. They also have an incredible wine selection!

All featured wines will be available for purchase at Brewery Creek, so if you discover a new favourite, you can pick up a bottle right across the street.  Or if we run out of space, grab a bottle and join along.

See you there!
