Looking for something fun to do in Mount Pleasant, Vancouver this August? Join the Mount Pleasant BIA for our first Block Party Off Broadway, a free neighbourhood event bringing local businesses, shopping, music, food, art and community activities together on Carolina Street just off Broadway.

Taking place on Saturday, August 29 from 12-5 PM, this Block Party will be an afternoon celebration of the local businesses and community that make this part of Mount Pleasant such a great place to spend the day.

What to Expect at the Off Broadway Block Party

There will be plenty to explore throughout the afternoon, with local businesses and community organizations bringing activities, shopping, food and entertainment to the street.

Book lovers can stop by Perfect Match Bookshop to make their own acrylic bookmark using bookmarks and stickers, as well as shop their selection of wrapped blind-date books.

For animal lovers, Catoro Cat Café will be part of the event, while Baby D’s will have a dedicated doggie area where four-legged friends can join in the fun.

STOXX Vintage and Dig It Select Vintage will be bringing a curated selection of vintage clothing and finds, making the block party a great opportunity to shop local and discover something new.

Blumen Florals will be joining the event with their beautiful floral creations.

The Mount Pleasant CPC will also be taking part with fun community programming to the block.

Kids and adults alike can get creative with Facepainting by La Luna, offering face painting throughout the afternoon.

Food, Drinks and Music

No Vancouver neighbourhood block party would be complete without good food and drinks.

Anna’s Cake House, the much-loved family-owned Hong Kong-style bakery, will be serving up plenty of tasty treats, plus the MPBIA will have free cotton candy for the afternoon.

Expect a selection of drinks from The Lido, including their popular Spaghetts, alongside music from some of their favourite DJs, including Roxy Motorola. The fun doesn’t have to end at 5 PM, head over to The Lido for their BC Hydra Rock N’ Roll Night, with more music and plenty of patio hangs into the evening.
