December 8 • 6:00 PM • The Pleasant Restaurant •2434 Main Street

YOU ARE INVITED :

As the complete closure of the Broadway at Main approaches, the Mount Pleasant BIA is organizing an important and urgent community town hall with officials from both the Province and the City. The ramifications will have an impact on the entire area, as this closure will be diverting traffic onto our side streets, affecting parking and access, as well as forcing people to find alternate routes, driving business away from Mount Pleasant

For five years, our neighbourhood has worked through ongoing construction that has already reduced revenues, increased vacancies, and strained the resilience of our local economy. The newly announced four-month shutdown, followed by further traffic restrictions, will create pressures far beyond what many businesses can absorb without meaningful provincial support. Emergency measures such as mitigation grants, tax relief, rent offsets, or activation funding will be essential.

This roundtable is an opportunity for a constructive discussion where your concerns to be heard directly by decision-makers – and to be reflected in broader public awareness.

Your voice matters. We strongly encourage you to attend, share your experience, and speak directly with the provincial and municipal leaders who will be joining us, along with members of the media.
