Mount Pleasant welcomes local tourism and hospitality professionals to the neighbourhood for the 17th annual Tourism Challenge, brought to you by Tourism Vancouver and the Vancouver Hotel Association.

Mount Pleasant is home to an incredible collection of small businesses including: unique shops, service providers for your body, home and car, restaurants and cafes for every taste, and a fun and energetic nightlife. Explore the hood and discover your Mount Pleasant.

The Tourism Challenge is an annual opportunity for tourism industry professionals to reeducate themselves and enjoy the outstanding attractions, neighbourhoods and world class hotels that our region has to offer, so that they are ready to welcome visitors and SHARE their passion and knowledge about ALL that our city and region have to offer.

Do you have a Tourism Challenge Passport?

Receive your stamps by completing the scavenger hunt, and finding the secret phrase. Solve the riddles below to find the words that make up the phrase. When you find the secret phrase – please visit one of our 2 stamping stations:  

  • Best Western Plus Uptown Hotel (205 Kingsway)
    7am – 11pm – everyday
  • Mount Pleasant Community Centre (1 Kingsway)
    9am – 9pm – Mon-Fri
    9am -5pm – Sat-Sun & Holidays

SCAVENGER HUNT:

Clue #1: This restaurant-lounge, located on 8th Avenue west of Main Street, is half way between eight and nine and located in the historic Depencier House, the oldest single-family residence in Vancouver outside downtown. You’ll find the clue on the in front of the patio.

Clue #2: This elegant building is next door to the famous 5 Point Pub on Main Street. Originally built as a post office, this building has been a Mount Pleasant landmark since 1916. You’ll find the second clue beside the patio.
