Celebrate Mount Pleasant Day 2015

Saturday, June 6th the Mount Pleasant Elementary School welcomed their neighbourhood to celebrate their community and raise funds.

On Celebrate Mount Pleasant Day 2015, the Mount Pleasant community and local families all came together to celebrate one of Vancouver’s BEST neighbourhoods: Mount Pleasant! The school, located on the east side of Dude Chilling Park (2300 Guelph St.) was packed with tons of activities, entertainment and a BBQ.

The Mount Pleasant BIA was also at Celebrate Mount Pleasant Day 2015 to support the community’s efforts with the Fish Pond booth manned by the MPBIA  summer interns. There was even live music performed by David Cassel all throughout the festival.

Even though it was a hot day, everyone had a fantastic time interacting with the kids and the Fishing Ponds and the bubble machine in particular was a huge hit.

We fundraised about $5000 with proceeds going to the school! Specifically it will support phase 2 of the playground (pathway, benches and shady areas) and also the school library and other areas of the school. We love our neighbourhood and are already excited for next year’s event scheduled for 2016!
