HELLO AND WELCOME!

It is with great excitement that we welcome you as member of the Mount Pleasant BIA. We look forward to getting to know you and your business and working with you to create positive changes for on Main Street from 2nd to 7th Avenue.

The MPBIA Mandate: To create an enhanced business environment in Mount Pleasant.

In the coming weeks, the MPBIA will begin addressing the issues you and your neighbours highlighted during our outreach over the last year.

Issues that we are investigating:

  • mobile security patrols
  • graffiti reporting and clean up
  • street cleaning
    • weed removal
    • garbage removal
    • weekly street sweep
  • new street furniture
    • bike racks
    • garbage cans (possible City delays but we are investigating)
  • street banners
  • co-op advertising opportunities

Meet & Greets

In April, the MPBIA will be hosting a number of Meet & Greet events in your area, as an opportunity for you to meet the MPBIA team and review the issues you and your business face. We hope you or a representative of your business will join us, dates and details will be available shortly.

Events & Programs

In addition, we have events, programs and opportunities you will be invited to participate in in the coming months. We will be in touch with more information as they come together. They include festivals, partnership programs and community art opportunities.

Communication

There are a number of ways that we stay in touch with our members including digital and hard copy newsletters, as well as on our website and social media outlets. We encourage you to visit our website for regular updates about issues pertaining to businesses in Mount Pleasant and check out our social media platforms. If you have events or promotions planned, we encourage you to email us the details so that we can help you spread the word.  

Website Directory

Your business will be added to our online directory in April however we are requesting some information from you to ensure the information we are providing is up to date and consistent with other listings. You can submit this information via email to charmaine@mpbia.ca

Info we need:

  •  Your logo – highest res you have, any format works
  • Brief description of your business, products and services that you offer.
  • Address, phone number, contact email
  • Hours of operation
  • Website
  • Social Media outlets: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linked In, Google + • Up to 6 images that represent your business (landscape, 1200 pixels max)

The MPBIA Board of Directors and Committees 

The MPBIA is a not-for-profit overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of property and business owners from within our boundaries. The Board, who meets monthly, provide higher level direction to staff on policy and initiatives. We also encourage members to participate on a committee level, where they are involved in initiatives within the following focus areas:

  • Safety and Security, Street Beautification, Maintenance and Graffiti Committee
  • Marketing and Special Events Committee
  • Business and Tourism Development and Community Relations Committee
  • Finance Committee
  • Public Art Committee
