Register to Vote

Online and phone registration for the 2017 Provincial General Election has closed. You can still register when you vote.

You can register to vote in a provincial election in British Columbia if you are:

  • 18 or older
  • a Canadian citizen
  • a B.C. resident for the past six months

Voting in the 2017 BC Provincial General Election

The 2017 Provincial Election is May 9th, 2017 – mark your calendars! Remember, there are many ways to vote! Make sure your voice is heard through the following means:

Vote at advance voting

Advance voting is available on April 29 and 30, and May 3, 4, 5 and 6. Advance voting places are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (local time).

All voters can vote at any advance voting place, and all advance voting places are wheelchair accessible.

Vote on General Voting Day

General Voting Day is Tuesday, May 9. Voting places will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Pacific time).

Find out where you can vote by:

  • Using Election BC’s Where to Vote application
  • Looking for your Where to Vote card in the mail (after April 20)

Vote at any district electoral office

Voting is available at any district electoral office from now until 4 p.m. on General Voting Day.

Vote by mail

Voters can ask for a vote by mail package from now until 4 p.m. on General Voting Day. Packages can be requested using the online form or by calling 1-800-661-8683.
